Acceptance §01
By creating an account, posting a job, accepting a job or otherwise using MovR, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the platform.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Leap24 Technologies (Pty) Ltd ("MovR", "we", "us").
The service §02
MovR is a technology platform that connects people who need goods transported ("Customers") with verified independent transport providers ("Drivers"). MovR is not a transport operator. Drivers contract directly with Customers; MovR provides the matching, payment and tracking tools.
Accounts §03
- You must be 18 years or older to create an account.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for activity on your account — keep your password safe.
- One account per person. No commercial resale of accounts.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
Booking & payment §04
- Customers post jobs; verified Drivers submit bids.
- A binding contract forms between Customer and Driver once a bid is accepted.
- The bid price is the final price unless services are added during the trip.
- Payment is processed at trip completion (in-app wallet) or in cash directly to the Driver.
- MovR charges a platform fee, disclosed in the price breakdown before you confirm.
- All prices include VAT where applicable.
Cancellation & refunds §05
- Customer cancels before driver dispatched: free.
- Customer cancels after driver dispatched, before pickup: R50 cancellation fee.
- Customer cancels after pickup: proportional charge for distance covered + R100 cancellation fee.
- Driver cancels after acceptance: no charge to Customer; rebooking offered.
- Refunds are processed within 5 business days to the original payment method.
Customer obligations §06
- Accurately describe what you're shipping — weight, fragility, hazards.
- Be present (or have a representative) at pickup and drop-off.
- Pay the agreed price on completion.
- Treat drivers with respect — abuse will result in account suspension.
- Do not ask drivers to transport prohibited items (see §08).
Driver obligations §07
- Maintain valid licence, vehicle registration and goods-in-transit insurance.
- Operate a roadworthy vehicle that matches your registered class.
- Honour accepted bids — arrive on time, complete the trip, deliver intact.
- Capture photo proof of pickup and delivery in-app.
- Comply with all traffic, customs and trade laws.
- Treat customers and their goods with care and respect.
Prohibited goods §08
The following may not be transported via MovR under any circumstances:
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives.
- Illegal drugs & controlled substances.
- Live animals (except service animals accompanying their owner).
- Hazardous materials, fuel, flammable liquids over 5 litres.
- Cash, jewellery or valuables over R 50,000 without prior arrangement.
- Human remains.
- Goods being trafficked or moved in violation of any law.
Violation results in immediate trip termination, account closure and possible referral to law enforcement.
Insurance & claims §09
Standard goods-in-transit cover is included on every trip up to R 10,000. Upgraded cover (up to R 100,000) is available at booking for R 45 per trip.
- Claims must be submitted in-app within 24 hours of delivery.
- Photos at pickup and drop-off (captured by Driver) form the basis of the claim.
- Claims are assessed within 14 business days.
- MovR's role is to facilitate — the underwriter makes the final decision.
Liability §10
To the maximum extent allowed by law, MovR is not liable for the acts or omissions of Drivers or Customers. MovR's aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid in the 6 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Termination §11
You may close your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, commit fraud, harass other users, or use the platform unlawfully. Where possible we give 14 days' notice; serious breaches result in immediate termination.
Disputes & law §12
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Gauteng High Court, Johannesburg.
